What’s the status of your commercial property?

It’s common for clients to come to us when they need urgent help on a property matter, whether they are in a dispute with a landlord, ready to renew their lease, or wanting to move location. Yet, how often do you check the ‘status’ of your commercial property – being proactive and knowing things are running smoothly, cost-effectively and keeping issues at bay?

We had a recent client that wanted us to review their lease. They thought there were a few things not quite right but needed expert advice. Not only did we manage to reduce this, it also put them in a better position to then negotiate an improved lease and are now reaping the benefits of taking advice early rather than leaving it too late.

So when you’re updating your LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter status, take a few moments to consider your property status. When was the last time you reviewed your property contractors, checked the efficiency of your building, reviewed your rates and service charge?

Ignoring things can mean you’re spending too much money and when difficulties arise, you may not be in the best place to resolve.
